About Prentice Events
| Prentice Events was set up in 2007 by Allan Prentice (pictured on the right), a retired member of the Lothian and Borders Police Force and a church elder of over 30 years. Allan has always been a keen cyclist so it made sense to use this as a way of raising funds as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle in Scotland, and maybe even help reduce our carbon footprint. | ![]() |
![]() | So, Prentice Events was formed and officially registered as a Scottish Charity (sc039404), the problem now was how to run cycling events that were different and stood out from the rest. This was an easy decision. All Events are built around a Scottish theme allowing participants the chance to see some of the historical sites around central Scotland Two Capitals - A scenic run from Dunfermline, the original Capital City of Scotland, overt the Forth Road Bridge to Edinburgh finishing at Ocean Terminal. Auld Alliance - runs from Edinburgh to Paris, finishing with a blue light police escort. ...and coming in 2010, "The Bruce Event" which will run from Stirling Castle , via Zeebrugge to Brussels and "The EDAM Event", which will run from Edinburgh to Amsterdam again via Zeebrugge. |
| Prentice Events has supported: Ekwendeni Hospitalin Malawi and Nyumbani in Kenya Mamie Martin Fund providing Girls education in Malawi Forth Radios Help a Child Kingdom FM Cash for Kids Raised cash for equipment and bikes for over 60 Scottish Schools The Two Capitals Event from 2010 , will be open to all to raise funds for their favourite charity , but also to support our youth and children to start cycling for their health and to reduce environmental damage by giving some of the funds you raise to Prenticeevents...and if you do , we will enter you into a draw to win a prize...perhaps like last three years a brand new bike...so get cycling ...join us on TWO CAPITALS ....with the family....Dunfermline Glen 13th June 2010. ... and finally, we asked Allan why he does it, and he replied "I enjoy creating the events and seeing others enjoy them whilst helping those less fortunate" |
